At last, we’ve survived the never-ending New England winter and have been counting down the days until Rooftop @ Revere re-opens for the season. This season, we’re diving back into the swing of things with the addition of some new decor, food and features that will make the rooftop the best place to sip, sun and savor summer in the city once again.
The 16,000 sq ft space in the heart of downtown Boston is an urban oasis and chic lounge area situated seven stories above street level, just steps away from the hotel’s indoor swimming pool. Guests can kick back on some new oversized day-beds, hanging egg-chairs, and chic ample lounge seating alongside a bevy of chaise loungers and six stunning cabanas. Inspiring local art curated by Boston’s own Lot F Gallery will see the return of oversized statues and fantastical creatures created by art collective, The !ND!V!DUALS. Refreshing cocktails, creative cuisine and ambient music will also be served up daily to compliment the wicked skyline views of Boston’s Back Bay and South End neighborhoods.
This year, Revere Hotel Executive Chef, Bader Ali will preside over the culinary program, unveiling a new menu that serves up an eclectic mix of seasonal New England-inspired fare intertwined with influences of his Lebanese heritage. Perfect for satiating hunger on a hot day, Chef Ali’s menu highlights include; Rock Shrimp Ceviche(Cisco Brewers 888 Pineapple Jalapeno Liqueur, Coconut, Boston Lettuce, $15,) Seared Tuna (Local Yellowfin, Konbu Ponzu, Jalapeno emulsion, $15, Watermelon & Feta Salad (Spiced Pepitas, White Balsamic, $10,) Homemade Potato Chips (Truffle Parmesan or Spring Onion Dip, $8,) and Spicy Hummus (Warm Pita, Olive Medley, $12.) Those looking for a little more substance with their sun can enjoy; Chilled Thai Shrimp Salad (Vermicelli, Spicy Peanut Sauce, $15/Vegetarian $12,) Chicken Shwarma Wrap (Pickled Turnip, Tahini, Raita Sauce, pickled vegetables, $15,) and the quintessential New England Lobster Roll (Maine Lobster, Tarragon Aioli, House Made Brioche, Revere Chips, $20.)
Seasonal craft cocktails will be served up by the glass or pitcher, under the guidance of Emerald Lounge Bar Manager, Teodora Bakardizheva. Unique concoctions will include; Passion Fruit Hurricane (Bacardi Gold, fresh orange, fresh pineapple, passion fruit puree, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup & Angostura Bitters, $11,) Pavan Spritzer(Pavan Muscat liqueur, sparkling water, fresh seasonal berries,) Hibiscus Rum Punch (Rum, Bacardi 8, Domaine de Canton, Hibiscus Tea Syrup, lime, $11, $44,) and theFrida (Tanteo Jalapeno Tequila, fresh watermelon puree, simple syrup, lime, $11, $44) will offer an island escape in a glass. Guests can also relax and rehydrate with small or large pitchers of Sangria Blanco (Sauvignon Blanc, St. Germain, lemon, simple syrup, splash of sprite, fresh fruit medley, $16, $32) or a classic frozen cocktail to the likes of daiquiris, and piña coladas. A special Fernet Pina Colada will also be offered for XX.)
Rooftop @ Revere will also introduce a four-star twist on a summertime favorite with the addition of Classy Jello Shots to the menu. These mixology-based jello shots offer a playful take on the childhood (or college) favorite, updated with fresh, higher-quality ingredients, unique flavor combinations, and upscale presentation. Classy Jello Shots will be priced at $6.00 per shot and flavors include; Watermelon Basil Vojito, Spiked Blackberry Ginger Limeade and Champagne Sangria.
Revere Hotel & Pret-à-Surf Partnership:
Once again, Rooftop @ Revere has partnered with chic surf-and-swimwear line, Pret-à-Surf, to outfit the staff. Pret à Karen Mulligan, agent to the photographer, Annie Leibovitz and Jill Demling, Entertainment Editor at Vogue and also a native of Weston, Massachusetts, are the designers and owners of Pret-à-Surf and have collaborated with Revere to outfit the Rooftop staff in fashionable uniforms selected from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection. Known for its classic and sophisticated styles coupled with retro vintage prints, Pret-à-Surf captures the New England spirit in design and aesthetic and is a perfect complement to both the venue and the Revere brand.
